Southall Summer Camp
I founded Southall Summer Camp in 2023, with a simple vision:
to provide an environment that balances fun, inspiration, and learning.
Our primary objectives are to:
Encourage creativity and self-expression
Support emotional wellbeing and confidence building
Develop open communication and teamwork skills
Promote community spirit and shared community values
About the Camp
The camp is limited to 200 participants each year to ensure quality, safety, and a sense of togetherness. It has been hugely popular and consistently oversubscribed, with places selling out weeks before opening.
The camp is made possible thanks to an incredible team of over 60 volunteers, who give their time, energy, and dedication to create an unforgettable experience.
Personally, the camp is also an opportunity for me to share my own skills with the community. Each year I run workshops in poetry, film, and photography, and we even train participants to film and interview one another. These peer-to-peer video projects have become a unique feature of the camp.

Impact
The Southall Summer Camp has quickly become a highlight of the summer for young people and families. It is a place where fun and creativity go hand-in-hand with confidence building, teamwork, and lasting friendships. This camp is a Sri Guru Singh Sabha Southall project and is part of a long history of day camps since the 1960s.
At its heart, the camp celebrates the best of community – a space filled with energy, imagination, and opportunities to grow.
