Fashion Project showcasing different cultural clothing for different communities within Ealing

The series of short films showcasing cultural dress for Punjabi, Indian and Afghan communities were shown at Gunnersbury Park Museum alongside the exhibition.

This formed part of a display for Gunnersbury Park & Museum’s Fashion Gallery on the theme of ‘arrivals’. This includes the physical arrival to the area or UK as well as the more abstract sense exploring significant life events such as births, weddings and coming of age ceremonies across different cultures and faiths.

The films featured local people talking about significant pieces of clothing and how they tie in with the theme. They accompanied a display which included these stories of the clothing as well as outfits and costumes sourced from our local communities.
